Hello,
I am hearing different news about the period that we can stay outside of Canada after the first landing. My husband and I planned to have our first landing in June 2013 before visa expiration and after staying for two weeks we have to back to our country as I am studying my master and can't quit the program. So, we can have our second landing which would come again after less than two years to stay in Canada. Do we need to come earlier? Is it OK if we stay outside the country for less than two years? as we already know we have to stay 3 years of the 5 years for receiving citizenship....

If that is your plan you can go back and continue education. For maintaining your PR, you need to stay inside Canada for 730 days totally within the five year period, calculated from the date of your first landing. No need to stay continuous.
