Hey everyone,

My husband is an American citizen and i sponsored him using the outland application. We just recently found out that I am 7 weeks pregnant :D we are hoping he gets his PR soon as we applied in May of 2013 (but who knows). If he does get his PR soon will there be any precautions if I go on mat leave once he gets PR. Just want to prepare ourselves for the future if all goes well.

Congratulations on your mini Foster! :D No problem going on maternity leave. It is not welfare or social assistance.

Awesome thanks Senoritabella! Should tell CIC I'm prego or I don't have to tell them.

You don't need to tell them you are prego but when the baby is born, you should inform CIC and send a copy of the baby's birth certificate. Congrats again!

As bella has mentioned above. You do not need to inform CIC. If the baby is due to be born before your husband lands, you need to inform CIC so that dependent information are updated. The husband's COPR must list the new baby before landing.

However if the baby is due after or will be born after the husband lands, then nothing changes. You don't even inform CIC of the new baby at all.

Great! Thanks everyone :) baby's due date is September 12th. So, hopefully we get his COPR sooner than that. We submitted our application last May.
