My common-law partner (same sex) has an uncle in Manitoba and we would like to apply in the provincial nominee program. However we have a problem, his family doesn't know about our relationship and in the MAS (Manitoba Affidavit of Support), his uncle has to fill up the questions "name of principal applicant" and "spouse".

Can we leave the "spouse" question blank and yet have my name written as accompanying him?

How can we apply for the provincial nominee under the family support stream if we do not have to let his family know about our relationship?

Thanks in advance.

There is provision for common law partner relationship

this might help to understand

Yes I read that thanks.

We've lived together for exactly 13 months however his uncle in Manitoba doesn't know about our relationship and practically would have not agreed with our relationship since in our country, these kind of relationships is not accepted.

I am just concerned about the Manitoba Affidavit of Support and how can we go about it.

Can we instead have the Manitoba Affidavit of Support notarized in Toronto, instead in Winnipeg?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
