Dear All,

I met an agent in Hyderabad, India who is processing work permit for Marriott Hotel in Canada and is charging around 7500 USD and promises to complete the process within 2 month. Can any one help me in finding out how genuine is it?

Or, kindly let me know if there is any genuine agent in India who can process the above for me.

Best Regards,
Abdul Samad

Dear Abdul Samad,
Whatever service that agent is offering LOOK AT THE PRICE, $7500 is TOO MUCH,
secondly is the agent registered and approved by Canadian Government.
Think of these things and don't think that $7500 and you will get the visa, think about the later time if something goes wrong,
and thirdly why are you going to Canada for money.....
and if that agent is so confidant and true why doesn't he apply and immigrate to Canada.
THINK.
Wicky

That sounds fishy.. Ask him as many questions as possible and you will easily find out how genuine is that..

I mean the who immigration process won't cost you that amount of money which he is asking!!!

1) Why would the famous Marriott Hotel give work permits to candidate who come through this guy !!! No enough agencies in Canada to provide the same service ?
2) Does this guy have an office in India?
3) AS wicky said, is this agent registered in Canadian Government?
4) Can he give a work permit to other companies in Canada or not ?
5) etc...

Good Luck.. just be careful

The bold text (that I placed in your post) should show you that this person should not be trusted.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is :)

Right Balooo, look the processing time for work permit, even LMO etc process in canada then at your visa office.
what post they offered at Marriot hotels. even they pay you in USD , why? canada dollars are valid everywhere same as USD , even no big rate differences, look this agent will sure eat your money, dont trust. Pay is high as per hotel job, but its depend on your role offered by hotel, even hotels are franchisee to some indian guy and I bet you if its franchisee then no body pay this amount. if its direct by Marriot hotel company hotel then we can trust it the pay portion but not processing time.

Two months sounds fake. save your money.

It's fake. Marriott does not hire through consultants outside Canada for Canadian locations. Timelines suggested by consultant too is unreal. Even in exempt categories, it take 6 months, forget about FSW2 categories, which is stipulated from 6 to 12 months processing timelines, as it is either HRSDC/LMO approval, which itself take 2 months to 4 months, and over that period is the VO processing timelines.

Ask for more information from the consultant, is he third party in contract with another consultant in Canada? Then, ask for original consultant information, search them, see if they even exsist, and if they are approved consultants. Ask for location, role, Job Description, which would be shared by company with the consultant, wages, benefits, hours, accomodation, etc.

You may check their website for more information.

Marriott has following locations in Canada - Calgary, Edmonton at River Cree Resort, Fredricton Global Reservation Centre, Halifax Harbourfront, Montreal Airport, Residence Inn Downtown Montreal, Residence Inn Muskoka Wharf, Sarnia Global Reservation Centre, Saskatoon Global Reservation Centre, The Rosseau, Toronto Airport, Toronto Downtown Eaton Centre, Vancouver Pinnacle Downtown, and Vancouver Renaisnce Harbourside.

Step back and have a look at the situation. Take time to make your decision.

Hi Abdul,

I am in the Hotel Industry for the last 13 years, I have never seen Marriott Hire like this. Yes they do hire through agents but thats for entry level jobs and in locations like Maldives, Cayman islands e.t.c Marriott has a very systematic and professional approach on recruitment and the job offers are usually listed in their website as see the link below

http://www.marriott.com/careers/default.mi

not to discourage you but sounds like a "Joke"

cheers

Hi Abdul Samad, i suggest reporting this person to the ND Office, he is only going to bring a bad name to the applicants in particular and the country in general. Not to forget that almost all immigration offices streamline their processes to mitigate such fake instances by way of increased scrutiny and increased processing times.

My suggestion btw, seniors are welcomed to give their point of views.

How about checking his credetials through Canadian Trade Office in Hyderabad??
