im new here,
my wife and i were married in the Philippines since 2003, i become a PR last November 2015, and i got my family here last January 2016, after almost 10 months of living together here in Canada we are always arguing and having always a problems in our marriage. and now we decided to get separated or divorce. we have 2 kids and we are married in the Philippines. what are we going to do? thanks.

Your question isn't entirely clear.

Your wife is free to keep her PR status even if you divorce.

yes i am living here for more than 3 yrs, but my wife is just about 10 months. is that enough time for her so that i can file a divorce?

Unless you have grounds for an immediate divorce (abuse or adultery), you must be living separately for a year before you can file for divorce.

There is no divorce in the Philippines, only Annulment.

Which is why a Canadian divorce will not be acknowledged in the Philippines... which does not cause a problem if they stay in Canada. However, if they want to get re-married to other people, they should not try to do it in the Philippines because it will be seen as bigamy.

Is that right? I had no idea, so is the process done through lawyers or the church out of interest?
