My husband has been in canada for 8 years. We've been married for over two years and have a 10 month old daughter together. In 2012 our sponsorship was approved. In 2010, He was given a departure order but was told he could stay if he was applying for refugee status. His refugee status was denied but in 2013 he applied to P.R.R.A. we are still waiting on that reply.
This past week we recieved a letter stating that to proceed with his P.R application they need evidence of confirmation of departure with in 30 days. Because this is from 2010 they are telling us it has become a deportation order and he needs to return to mexico and apply for an authorization to return. Can anyone advise me if what they are saying is valid and for how long he may be gone for, if he'll be approved to return? If hes gone for a lengthy time ill be trying to support myself and daughter alone and i believe that as his sponsor im not entitled to apply for any form of assistance such as day care subsidy?

Thank you for your help,
K
