Hi there, my situation: While I was on a visit to Canada last year I met someone and we fall in love, we moved in together pretty quickly and got married, I didn't apply for sponcorship (she's was supposed to do that, she's s citizin, I'm not) a year later things fall apart and we got divorce, while in the process I met someone new we are planing on getting married will my divorce or short term marriage effect my application?

Yes because both partners are Canadian and both were quick marriages, you'll need to provide clear explanations as to why this marriage isnt one of convenience

What is your status currently in Canada? You mentioned you were a visitor but that was last years. Yes 2 quick marriage while you were a visitor and not sure you statue for the 2nd will look very suspicious. The fact that you didn’t start the sponsorship process for your first marriage may also raise questions.

Still on a visitor visa and never over stay my stay.

Thank you very much. If it's not a marriage of convenience and there are clear explanations and evidence. Would it still be a problem?

Yes. Two marriages in 2 years to 2 different Canadians looks suspicious. I would expect your application to be very carefully scrutinised.

You may want to wait a bit before you apply. Build up a really strong history with your current wife. Start documenting now - take lots of photos, go on trips together, spend lots of time with each others extended families. Keep proofs of everything. This will help offset the additional scrutiny you application will receive.

How long have you been dating your current partner?
Has this time been in person or long distance?
Will you do a traditional marriage according to your cultures with friends/family attending, or just a quick court wedding?

Since the end of last September. It's been both. Long distance and in person. We didn't live together but she came to visit me for two weeks and we travel around my country. Neither of us is traditional but we may consider a little more then just a court wedding as I read that they do look on those things so a traditional wedding may help.

You have been dating for less than 6 months and you plan to marry? I would say that your application is going to be looked at very closely! In the course of a year you have met, married and divorced wife #1 and then met and proposed to fiancee #2. Unbelievable!

Yes this can be true, depending on the country. What county are you from?

I know! What can we do. Sh!t happens

I'm not sure what IRCC's expectations are Israel. It could be that you could get away with an informal wedding ceremony. Hopefully someone who is more knowledgeable can comment

But given the red flags that would be in your application, may be best to play it safe and have a full traditional ceremony.
