hello.

i wonder if I can change my last name to my husband ( I applied outland and now stay in Canada as visitor)

We were filling into his job beneficiary form and found I do not use his last name so it might give trouble when i use his insurance or etc.

I do not have any Canadian Id ( I tried to renew my driver licence but I could not do with visitor status)

So only identification i have and could change my last name is my passport.

thank you.

On the contrary, you should not have a problem with insurance and stuff.
If he assigns you as a beneficiary or dependent and put you as a spouse that should be enough.
If they ask you for a marriage certificate so be it.

In Canada it is not compulsory for wives to take their husband's last name.

Are you planning to change your last name in sponsorship application too?

If not then don't change your passport name, cause you will have a lot of trouble and confusion.
