Hello everybody,
I am preparing my application package under the family sponsorship (my wife will be sponsoring me) and I have a question about the supporting documents: who, among the sponsor and the sponsored person, has to provide the marriage certificate?
It is pretty clear to me that I have to provide the marriage certificate (form 3910e point 7), but according according to the checklist (form IMM5491E), point 14 it only seems that the sponsor has to provide the marriage certificate only if there is a co-signer, which is not our case.
I tried to run a search but I did not find anything in this respect, can anyone help? Do we have both to provide the same document just to be on the safe side with CIC? I was under the impression that also the sponsoring spouse had to provide it.
Many thanks in advance.

Only one marriage certificate and besides all your documents will be sent in one package.

Tx. So is I understood correctly I (the sponsored person) have to be the one providing the certificate, don't I?

the sponsor application AND the applicant application are sent in the same package to the same place, so it's not that 1 person is providing it and another isn't. both applications make up the PR application... so only 1 copy is necessary. it doesn't matter which section of the application it is clipped to. all that matters is that it is included in the package. that's it.
