Hi everyone, I need help determining marital status. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I moved to another province in Aug 2017 for a job. My boyfriend signed the lease with me so that there was a better chance of getting the apartment. We've never had a joint bank account or had both our names on utility bills. We have no children together. I can't think of anything that we own or share together.

Now I'm applying for my Canadian citizenship and I'm trying to determine my marital status.

He stayed with me for the following periods:
August 21 to November 26 2017
January 8 to May 3, 2018 (43 days gap)
July 30, 2018 to August 10, 2018 (88 days gap)
August 11, 2018 to August 19, 2018 (9 days gap)
August 19, 2018 to present (June 24, 2019)

Did our common law count reset at 88 days gap as we had not established common-law (consecutive 365 days) prior to the 88 days gap? In that case I do not think we are not common law yet and I can apply as single (never married) - can someone please confirm?

Not that it really matters as my boyfriend is a Canadian citizen and I'm a PR applying for her Canadian citizenship, I just don't want any sort of misrepresentation issues.

Thanks and have a great day!

1. Your marital status really doesn't matter, if you feel you are common/law (which it appears you are) then put common/law.
