Hi all,

My future wife is living in Bangladesh right now and I will apply out land for her. Now she doesn't have a passport so I asked her to get one so that I can bring the photocopy of that on my way back in July03 from Bangladesh. The thing is if she applies now in her passport she needs to put her fathers name instead of mine as we are not married yet but by the time I apply for her she will be. What you think in this case should I ask her to put? I am also planning to go outside for honeymoon after getting married so that I can show that as proof too.

Should I also have to change my passport too to reflect the marriage?

Thanks.

Not sure about other countries but in the US, the husbands marital status isn't part of his passport. In my case, to make it easier for CIC, I'm waiting until I change my name to file. The wifes actually wouldnt figure even, unless she was applying for a reissue due to herthe marriage. May delay it some but I don't mind. Some people are just changing names on other ids if they already have a newly renewed passport but including other ids with her name change. but since hers is new, in my opinion I would wait.

its beter for u that ur future wife doing her passport after marriage when u also at bangladesh. what i know there is no official requirement for passport indicating there as a spouse. but one thing we should remember that canadian immigration r very concerned about marriage fraud so thats why its better for u declare more evidence about authentication on marriage. have a nice time there.
