Hello everyone,

I am going through a hard time of my life. I from India and I got married last year in Sikh temple and my wife (also Indian) had to go back to Australia to complete her graduation very next day due to which we couldn't register our marriage.

Due to some reasons things are not going well and we have decided to be separated.

In that case, we are filing a divorce because marriage pics, video and sikh temple certificate can still be used to prove us married in Indian court. This information is confirmed from various lawyers that anyone of us can file a complaint against another with the help of these documents. So properly nullify the marriage divorce is the best option.

So I don't have a marriage certificate but soon I'll be divorced. I already have an express entry profile. I've mentioned single there as I don't have any legal proof of marriage which Canadian government recognises but just in case I get ITA and police verification will be going on then it'll be found that I have filed a case for divorce. So what should I do?

Should I keep single as my marital status or what?

Any help and suggestions would be really really appreciated.

Thanks
