Hello,

My wife applied back on March 7, 2026.

Questions are:

1. Did any of you have received AOR yet?
2. Where is the link for the citizenship tracker excel?
3. She withdrawn her citizenship application before. She first applied back on Oct 2024 but the officer seem to believe she did not meet the residency requirements. No changes were ever made on her status except her AOR so she decided to withdraw on January 2026. Will that previous application affect her new application now?

Thank you!

Hello everyone,

I am also a March applicant. Bu I have a doubt. There is some confusion with regards to police clearance certificate requirement.

Briefly, my case is that I am in Canada continuously since Feb 2023, so the physical presence requirement of 1095 days is met, as of today (actual, 1095+38 days).

But the website says if you have spent more than 183 days in the last 4 years from the application date outside Canada, you need police certificate.

In 2022, I was in India for the whole year. So, this means that I would need police certificate from India, right?

Please guide me if I am correct or incorrect in my interpretation.

Thanks.

if you are Indian then you dont need pcc because its your country of origin.

It takes roughly 2.5 months for people to start getting AOR. We have a bit of a wait yet. Here is the link to the Excel document:

The previous application will not affect this one other than IRCC being able to review the previous application and reason for refusal. That will be the first thing they check. They will want to see that the residency reason no longer applies.

if you are Indian then you dont need pcc because its your country of origin.

❌ About the claim: “He’s Indian so no PCC needed for India”

This is incorrect.

IRCC does not say:

  • “You don’t need a PCC for your home country”
  • or “Citizens are exempt”
Instead, the rule is purely based on:

  • time spent (183+ consecutive days)
  • within the last 4 years
Your citizenship (Indian, etc.) is irrelevant to this requirement.

check the section "Foreign police certificates"
https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/rescalc...ificates,police certificates from any country

During the four (4) years immediately before the date of your application, if you spent 183 days or more in a row (since the age of 18) in a country (other than Canada), you must provide a police certificate from each country. If you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada and this time falls within this four year period, you are NOT required to provide a police certificate. Please indicate this in the explanation box of the application form.
