@JohnnyDamien @armoured I appreciate you both for humouring me. The discovery was interesting and slightly surprising to me (when it comes to IRCC, very few things surprise me anymore). So I guess I was hoping that someone with more knowledge than me would confirm that this is indeed possible.

Hi, I also received my letter from the Sydney office, with the same test window: May 23rd to June 21st. Wrote the exam on May 23; updated to completed on May 24; background check updated to completed on May 29. LPP in progress.

The test invite I got contains a generic mail id and no where in the email or the documents it says which office sent it, is there a way to find out which office sent it?
