March 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Hi all, I completed my virtual oath and ceremony on March 8, 2022 and as of March 9 my application is noted as "closed" because "Reason: We have approved your application to become a Canadian citizen."!

I would like to note, during my Zoom oath/ceremony, my video froze and I was disconnected from the zoom right before the oath. I had to try multiple times to get back in and the moderator needs to allow me back in. So, if you get disconnected, just try getting back in (wait a few mins to give the moderator time to let you in) - if they don't let you in right away, close the zoom app/meeting and try again. I did this at least 4 times. But, I made in just in time for my oath....I was honestly panicking during that whole process since I had already cut up my PR card with an IRCC rep as a first step in the oath/ceremony process. I feel like I would have been in a major predicament if I was not able to get back in.

I remember we were in the same situation and had an alike timeline. I got the test invite on Jan 27 too, tho I attempted it later on Feb 20. It was marked completed on the tracker on Feb 21, so hopefully I might receive some updates in the coming week.

yes, when i checked it this morning, March 15th, the status says closed.

Hi all. It has been a long time since I came in here. This whole process has been so stressful and lacking any sense… but finally, after two years, I got my oath invite today for April 4th, 2022. All my other stats should already be in the worksheet. I had a DM since April 2021.

Hypothetically speaking - if one receives a Citizenship Test date via email and misses it - would there be any changes in your application status online ? Or would the items still be "In Progress"

I think if you do get a test scheduled, an entry will show up in the tracker. Btw, did you have Knowledge Test status stuck in "In Progress"? I have been in that status since April last year, and still not test scheduled at this point (I submitted my application exactly two years ago 3/16 2020).

Nope nothing yet for us - just requested Finger Prints which we had sent and received June 7 - 2021 , Case has been cold since and afraid it might be a year before we hear anything .

I received my citizenship certificate yesterday, March 17th (9 days after the ceremony / oath).

I applied on March 2020 as well. Then Covid hit and all went to get deep sleep. Then got AOR on Aug, 2020. Then got fingerprint request on March 2021 and did that, background check status turned to completed on May, 2021. Waiting and waiting then got test invite
and did the test on October 2021. Now waiting and waiting and got a surprise that my background status turned to in progress since February 2022. Now I am waiting and waiting and feeling like stupid and hopeless!!
Did anyone went through same situation??
Can someone please tell me what will be the next? What should I do now?? Thank you
