naveedbhai, two things.

did you get an answer from the visa office to your case specific enquiry? second, My passport is non-machine readable - means without the two line sof letters and digits with >>>>><<<<<< at the bottom of the photo page. Do you think this could pose problems if I were to land in a Canadian port? Secondly, would you think this could be why my security checks is taking so long?? My medicals reached London on 30 Jan and so far no PPR If you could answer [please, many tx

Hi bro: I have already got answer of my first enquriy in which i asked them to update my e.mail address but still waiting the reply of my second enquriy in which i asked them when they will send me the prr. Regarding ur second question bro i don't know whether it will pose problems for u or not at port but it is better that u apply for ur machine readable passport before getting ppr as in pakistan chc islamabad is not accepting non machine readable passport for visa purposes and i don't think that your security check is taking so long just because u have non machine readable passport .

Did they request for passport at that time?

They did. I dunno if you know this but that's the way NDVO functions. They ask for your passport along with the medicals and PCCs. Anyways I've asked to Consultants to send in a request. Let's see what they say.

Naveedbhai, finally i got the answer from chc which has pout me ina dilemma. here it is -

WE ARE AWAITING RESULTS OF BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THIS APPLICATION. THE FILE WILL THEN BE DUE FOR REVIEW BY AN IMMIGRATION OFFICER. WE WILL BE IN CINTACT ONCE THIS REVIEW HAS TAKEN PLACE.

what do they mean by backgrounbd check? do they mean security and criminality checks? i understand background checks are done to verify work experience, education etc and are carried out b4 issuing medicals. do you think in my case, may be the chc sent the medical request b4 verifying my work and education? i am concerned becoz they say after receiving the results of my bg checks, the file will be due for review by immigration officer. my understanding is after the bg checks results arrive, they send the ppr. Please if you could let me have your thoughts as I am now worried and assume that nothing much has been done on my file so far.

Many tx for your time.

Dear Seniors in the forum,

i need your urgent advise on this please. the chc received my meds on 30 jan, rprf encashed 16 feb and med reslts received update on my ecase on 19 april. still no ppr. so i sent a case specific enq to london chc a few days ago regarding my case. i received an answer y'day as follows:

Hi bro don't panic there are two types of background check standard background and then crminality and security check . Standard background checks involves authenticity of all documents that takes place before medical so u don't worry vo means that they are waiting the results of ur security check and once they get it then imo will review ur security check results and once cleared then they will send u the ppr. By the way i have not still received answer of my enquriry.

Regards.

bro, tx for your reply. yr timelines are terrifying for any one who is waiting. i feel it s really unjust on the one's waiting that the immigration doesn't follow a first in first out policy. any way let's hope we all get through as soon as possible. good luck bro :)

Yes i am hundred percent sure that they are using LIFO ( Last in first out ) Method .

that is correct, I have been waiting for nothing since August 2006, nothing has been done on my file.
I find it childish when some of you cries over a 1 year waiting period.

Hi Doc9999, I think we have similar timelines. I am also awaiting my passports since December 2011. Infact, I think its a rarity to find people who applied in March 2011 and got their visas..Its crazy, I tell you..

i think u need to ask then. send them an enquiry or get CAPIS. i am sure they will answer as it has been 6 years now and it is not normal. Again, if what you have said in your post is true word for word (nothing has been done on your file), then u stand the risk of getting included in the pre-Feb 2008 mass cancellation of applications. Why don't you find out what's happenning???

How does the modification date come into play? Is it not the site modification date and not e-cas modification cause even without logging into e-cas we can see the modification date. Just asking..
