It is 3 months before the submission of documents to the visa office.

where can i get prove of this info? i got my police cert already, and it's 3 months already.
i had it a month before applying for initial one (CIO)
i was hoping that 3 month before the submission of documents to CIO... ???

You might have to get another one then ..

"The certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application."

Thank u very u much for your reply Suja...
Have organized almost everything except the FBI clearance..its been only 5 weeks since we applied for it...getting worried now if the other police certificates will be out of date by the time we get the fbi clearance! :-(
will send the documents as soon as we get the FBI clearance certificate...

Don't worry .. Many are getting in 2 months now.
You can call FBI and check on your Status , whether your request has been entered into their database.
Once they done it, you'll soon get your FBI Clearance..

I think it depends on which FSW category you're applying under. I applied under FSW3 and my lawyer told me that since Canada is the only other place I have lived out of my home country since I got my police certificate from there then I should not get a new one (from the home country..I got it about a year ago and she says its still valid because I have only lived in Canada since it came out) not sure if my lawyer is right though. It would be horrible if I have to contact my embassy again to get a new one..I haven't lived or visited my home country in over 6 years. Qorax and seniors..any insights?

This is not correct. You don't need to get new one. The FBI clearence should not be older than three months before you apply to CIO.

narinderdl, No they didn't give us any indication they just told us it was the wrong NOC code. It would have been nice to get a bit more info but hey were still in there and still trying.

P&D

Hi
Friends would you mind telling me did you get the application packet as a whole alongwith a hard copy of the letter or just the letter?
Another question is did you send the same application package; with change of NOC page or did you send the new forms and what about the payment option did you send the same old payment or a new one?

Shall appreciate your reply
Regards

Hi both Mirza and Chami
I dont thats a big issue. The website states

"You may begin to gather your police certificates before submitting your application to the CIO. Although you will not submit the police certificate to the CIO, you must be ready to submit them to a visa office if your application is recommended for further assessment at a Canadian visa office. When you submit the application to the visa office please ensure that your certificates were not issued more than three months before you submitted your application to the CIO."

3 months since you first applied to CIO.

Which means lets suppose you applied on 1st March 2010 and have attained PCC on 1st Dec 2009 then when you shall send your Documents to CHC (any) your PCC that you obtained in Dec 2009 is still accetable.

The reason behind this is "you need police certificate for the places where you have lived 6 consecutive months". Now after getting the PCC if something changes in your situation then you shall mention that in the docs being sent to CHC which obviously will be for the period of more than siix months and for that period you shall be asked for a new PCC.

Its a bit complex but at the same time very easy to understand

I personally think you should send the PCC that you obtained in the meanwhile it shall not be considered expired.

Hope thsi helps
