bago lang ako sa forums pero tanong ko lang po, kasi yung 29 year old brother ko sa canada iniisponsor yung parents and isang sister namin para makapunta dun. nabasa ko dito mayroong mga nadedeny ng visa na dependents. pinasok ang sponshorship nung 18 ang sister namin. nakapagtapos na siya ng kolehiyo at nagsimula nang magtrabaho. she's 21 now. she didn't continue studying so does that mean she won't get her visa? or will she still get it since she was still studying when the sponsorship started?

@frufru, once na nagtrabaho na ang sister mo she's no longer qualified. Huwag niyang sayangin ang opportunidad na makapunta dito sa Canada, sana e-encourage mo siyang bumalik sa pag-aaral, I know it is hard for her to go back to school lalo na kung nagtatrabaho na siya, but tell her, this year (2013) 25,000 parents/grandparents including dependant/s will be issued immigrants visas just to reduce the back-log, sabihin mo sa kanya baka this year kasama na sila doon. If she looking forward for her future she need to sacrifice, another 1 ~ 2 yrs of waiting is nothing. If you convince her, don't ever mentioned to immigration na nag-work siya, just in case na mag-tanong kung anong ginawa niya right after the graduation, sabihin nyang nag-review siya then she decide to take another course para mas malaki ang opportunity niya na maka-kita ng trabaho sa Canada. Kailangang e-maintain niya na dependent pa rin siya sa'yong parents. One good example, my office-mate migrated here last 2009, his eldest daughter turn 25 yrs old noong lumabas ang immigrant visa nila, at lahat ng anak ay naka-alis. Yung eldest niya ay 19 yrs old noong nag-apply cla sa Canada, the oldest siblings took 3 different courses just to maintain her status as dependant. Now they are happy family at lahat ng anak niya ay may-maayos na trabaho dito.

Yung mga kapatid ko na landed immigrants noong before Christmas ay lock-in na di na sila nag aral pa pero mga single pa though partly dependent sa amin ... wala ng hiningi pa kc pinadala na namin ang mga CENOMAR kasabay sa pr and mr nila...nilagay namin yung employment nila pero kc nakatira pa sila sa bahay ng parents ko until they left for Canada

I've asked the immigration officer, our MP and it's in the list on their website how to qualify as dependent child, 'MUST BE A FULL TIME STUDENT" is the answer. Yong sinasabi nila na frozen yong age by the time i apply nong sponsor sa canada to sponsor their family, must be below 22. Kailangan i maintain na student cya hanggang matanggap ang visa. By the time na iprocess na sa manila, the manila embassy will ask the full history kung nasaan yong dependent from the age of 22 plus transcript/school records then they will random check kung totoo bang full time student. It's not good na mag stop nang studies.

Hope this will help.
Thanks

Uu wala talaga andito na mga kapatid ko my sister was 21 when I sent my sponsorship application on July or August 2008...my sister turned 22 on December 2008 :):):) ang status nila ay single at nakatira sa bahay ng parents ko, but they had been working sa hospital kaya ngaun dito kelangan nalang nilang kumuha ng license kasi may experience na sila sa atin...

I originally sent my sponsorship application July or August 2008 yun but na delayed ang CIC sa acknowledgement of receipt...I told them to look into it noong natanggap namin ang pr and mr nila...

so tama po ba ako na ang only qualification para maconsider na dependent kung pinasok ang sponsorship before the age of 22, ay dapat single?

Who is considered a dependent child?
To be considered a dependent, a child must meet the requirements of type A, B or C below:

Type A

He or she is under the age of 22 and not married or in a common-law relationship.
Type B

He or she married or entered into a common-law relationship before the age of 22 and, since becoming a spouse or a common-law partner, has been continuously enrolled and in attendance as a full-time student in a post-secondary institution accredited by the relevant government authority; and depended substantially on the financial support of a parent.

or

He or she is 22 years of age or older and, since before the age of 22, has been continuously enrolled and in attendance as a full-time student in a post-secondary institution accredited by the relevant government authority; and depended substantially on the financial support of a parent.
Type C

He or she is 22 years of age or older, has depended substantially on the financial support of a parent since before the age of 22 and is unable to provide for him/herself due to a medical condition.

Yes kung younger than 22 years old noong sponsorship application basta wag lang mag asawa. At kung 22 or older na sya when they filed for sponsorship karamihan talaga na deny kahit nag aral pa...kaya ibang application nalang ang applayan do not waste money...so yung sa inyo diba 18 sya nung pag file ng sponsorship? That being the case, don't bother sending his/her to school kc lock-in na yung age nya...just like my siblings' case. i was advised to tell my siblings to get an experience about 1 thousand hours so they don't have to upgrade their bsn/rn here in Canada...

I think there's confusion sa lock-in nang age. ibig sabihin naka lock ang age nila to qualify as dependent (below 22) "BUT they could be disqualified if they stop going to school". swerte yong iba nagstop nang studies nila na hindi cla na check nang embassy kasi nag rarandom check ang embassy.

ya too na naka lock ang age pero hindi age lang ang basihan sa qualification kailanagn naga enrol sa school. I'm sponsoring my brother too and he was 18 on that time BUT he's not qualified now for he stop schooling at the age of 22 up to present, anyway it's your call.

I've also consulted Jason Kenney's secretary in our place.
