Oh no! I did not submit an AOM either! My wife and I were married in Costa Rica and we provided the marriage certificate (with English translation) that was authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and certified by the Philippine Consulate in San Jose. Is the AOM a requirement for marriages that occured abroad?
It's not a requirement, if you provided a CENOMAR from before the wedding. They need either a CENOMAR or an AOM, doesn't matter which.

I think he was the VP of the Philippines...
Yeah, he was at the time, I had no idea who he was but you should have seen the outboard motor on his boat and the amount of guns.. we were alone on the small island beach with him, a beach dog, his entourage and a giant bowl of Kilawin that he was consuming. I got all excited when Moose pointed him out on TV Patrol the other night. Looks like he had a face lift :-X

This is embarrassing, I'm talking to myself, a la Tagum, and my spouse landed months ago.. get a life.. LOL which reminds me I have to go pick him up... Steph out, don't talk about me when I'm gone

Dear
We are pleased to inform you that your visa(s) for permanent residence to Canada is/are ready to be issued, conditional to a final admissibility review by an immigration officer. In order to complete the process you may personally submit, on Mondays and Thursdays only @ 8 A.M., the following:
A travel or airline booking certificate for a confirmed flight within the validity of your visa(s). Please note that we are not requiring a fully paid airline ticket. Kindly defer the final purchase of your airline ticket until you are in possession of your passport(s) and the appropriate visa(s).
NOTE: Your visa(s) will be valid for your initial entry to Canada until 10/27/2013 (mm/dd/yyyy). Please ensure that the validity of your passport(s) is at least six (6) months beyond this validity date (note that any passport received with a shorter validity than the date shown above will result in a reduced validity for entry to Canada for all members of your family, if any).
The validity of a permanent resident visa - once issued - may not be extended, nor can replacement visas be issued with a new validity date. If you submit a booking certificate, it is taken as an indication of your ability and willingness to travel to Canada within the current validity of your visas as stated above.
Please comply within 10 days to ensure that we are able to finalize your application within the current validity of your visas. If you do not provide us with your passport(s) and/or do not use your visa(s) before this expiry date and still wish to go to Canada, additional requirements may be required and could result to delays or extended processing times.

CHANGE OF STATUS. Should any of the following circumstances apply to you (or any person included in your application), you must immediately inform this office, in writing, for further action:
change in marital status by reason of marriage, divorce, separation, annulment or death;
death of applicant, dependant(s) or sponsor;
birth of a child;
change in health
the laying of any criminal charges or conviction for a criminal offence;
change in your mailing address and / or telephone number

Failure to inform this office of any change of the above may render you and your family members inadmissible to Canada.
Sincerely,
Family Reunification Unit

She did not have a cenomar before our wedding. We met and married in Costa Rica where we both lived at the time. Costa Rican law does not require any cenomar to get married. Just an affidavit from ourselves stating that we were both officially once married and divorced. We supplied both official/original divorce documents translated and authenticated (mine from Canada and hers from Costa Rica) as well as our marriage Certificate with our application.

As for the advisory of marriage, the marriage was not conducted in the Philippines so is it applicable?

Congratulations MrSki and marcjd!
