Woah I thought it was okay to bring 10,000 cad as long as you declare it?
OH NO NOT EVEN IF YOU DECLARE IT,,,IT COULD CAUSE TROUBLE,,,,,SOME ONE CALCULATED CONVERTING TO CANADIAN MONEY SO HE WOULD BE JUST UNDER 10,000,,,,BUT WHEN HE CONVERTED IT IT WAS JUST OVER 10,000,,,,,,,THEY TOOK HIS MONEY AND WONT GIVE IT BACK,,,,,,,,THERE COULD BE A LITTLE MORE TO THIS STORY BUT THATS THE BASICS,,,,,,,SO HAVE THE Bnks transfer it if u have it

You are welcome goldenkagi! If you just bring in around $9500 - $9700 and you will be fine. You don't have to declare it, plus you will most likely spend some of it before you get to Canada on food and fees anyways.

I would check the rates for CAD-PHP and USD-PHP as it might be more cost effective to convert your PHP to USD in the Philippines then convert the USD to CAD once in Canada at a bank. When I wired some CAD to the PH a while back, I ended up with less PHP when they converted it than if I wired USD. The US Dollar was on par with the CAD Dollar at the time but the BPI gave a worse rate for CAD and I lost out. Just something to think about.

Good luck!

No. I guess the human interest won out over the truth.

Thanks again diesel! Yeah, I always check the exchange rates. As of now, USD and CAD are roughly the same, yeah? USD to PHP is about 43.xx, and CAD to PHP is 41.xx. Will have to monitor it in the following months if and when CEM decides to give me my visa...

Yay Tagum, they finally sent your family's medicals! Yes, one step closer! Let's be positive, sending happy thoughts your way! Visa is coming! (yay exclamation points!)
