They didn't have the travel tax those many years ago. I think it's relatively new.

I alays remember the FOW going in a special area to pay thier tax

I heard that sometimes, even if it's included in your ticket, they can try and make you pay still.

haha, such a shame how the govt works here in our country, i remember paying almost 1thousand so I can get my NBI right away.

Maybe it's included in your tickets already. If you bought the tickets thru agencies here, travel tax is included already. if you booked it online, or if you bought it from agencies abroad, then you'll still pay.

I dont think the philippine government wants to give a travel agent a cut of thier money

That money goes directly into thier pockets,,,,,like a beer fund here, when you get paid cash to a group of workers. Being a foreigner, by urself with out a filipino, you are asked for alot of unreqd expenses, and the same to for a filipino leaving the country with a PR, they think you got lots of money

It's such a shame.. they should make anti-corruption laws, starting with members of the same family cannot all hold a government office. Maybe it would help here in Canada if we also had the same law

CEM received my passport May21. is there a chance that i'll get the visa before june 17? i have 4 tickets to macau i booked august last year so i can bond with my siblings before i leave. didn't expect the process would take this long. sigh.

I think it's possible.. however May 21 is pretty recent. What does your ECAS say?

Maybe you could cash it in for a flight to Boracay or Batanes

If it's Cebu Pacific they're pretty cheap to change the ticket. Well their tickets are cheap too.

ecas still says "app received" just got those tickets from cebu pac's piso promo last year. it'll be more expensive to rebook than to get new tickets.
