OK. So ATIP was received the 20th of April by their recollection. I had to email in a complaint concerning yet another aspect of this ridiculous procedure to get my GCMS notes which they emailed this morning.

As I read through them I was expecting to see something that would indicate why it took so long to process but there were no red flags about anything. The application was opened in Manila on the 4th of April 2 days after I had complained through the office of Kevin Lamoureaux. Then on May 6th all approved. Looks like June 6th she should get her visa.

I'm happy but pissed off that for the whole year of waiting the application may have only been actively reviewed over a few weeks. Meanwhile medicals expire and the cost to me increases with every month that goes by. I am not impressed and very embarrassed to be Canadian since this is how most new immigrants experience Canada for the first time. The government should issue an apology with every visa issued.

That is good to hear... At least you know it is approved. Congrats CJG. Looks like u are almost done.

Thanks. What a convoluted system though. My entire application was less then 30 pages. Some people have sent it applications as much as 200 or more and it still sat in a pile for a year. Not 1 red flag. I'm almost insulted.

If you consider the info that they ask for on the applications and have submitted legal documentation then that should be enough for the government to stamp it complete.

I totally agree. It should not take that long to process them.

Yeah, they will read your email then they will look at each other in surprise. "14 months? Did we list the new time as 14 months? Oops!". Then they will change it to 16. :P

I hear ya. The ONLY problem with mine was the expired medical. Yet they sat on it for an extra month and a half before telling us. Now they are sitting on it again.

I would count a month from the medical request date.. unless you are lucky like a certain man I know.

It's nice when you have an app that goes smoothly. Yours didn't get diverted to Ottawa like many (including mine). I applied a month earlier than you and will probably end up waiting a month later because of that. And that was long before I contacted an MP or CEM. You got lucky, good for you. We didn't, and so we have to make them do their jobs.

Oh, before you go you should pop over to the Manila tagalog thread one more time to say goodbye and tell them to speak English. Always a classic! ;D :P

Anyway, all the best to the two of you and your new life together.

You had no need to write anyone. Yours was complete in 7 months but still you cried and cried about how now you will leave your wife because your Viagra has worn off and the prostitutes are closer anyway.
Really Gort.....fook off. Your wife the doctor manages to get a job at a hospital she has never been to and interviewed by administration she has never met all this without even having to have her credentials qualified to Canadian standards.
