ECAS is such a troll.. checked it 5 times yesterday and once more before sleeping. Wake up to find it updated to Medical Results Received!

Is that your "hubby's" medical or the kids? Sounds like you are so close..

It's his. They are not on the ECAS because they're non-accompanying. I think it's close now! Luckyman went from Meds Received to DM in 2 or 3 days.

My status showed the medicals received at the same time my status changed to "In Progess". Is that what you are referring to?

We had new medicals done, those are the only things holding up the release of the visa.

You guys are entertaining to read. I was thinking the same last night about when I started it was at 8 months and now 14...crazy. Every three months that go by, we only gain 1 to 1.5 months of progress. Drives me crazy. When we first applied, I was hoping to have them here by March....now after months of disappointment I would be grateful for August. Its amazing how it truly wears you down, financially and mentally.

oh, ok....sorry, I missed that part. Well, good luck, I hope it goes very fast now

seems this process just takes longer and longer. decided bring wifey here for few months since she can stay for up to 6 months on a visitor visa as opposed to me going there using 2 weeks vacation time from work.

can we have a spousal sponsorship application in progress, then she apply for a visitor visa? don't know if this would work

yes. Your wife can come to Canada on a visitor visa. She might be given 6 months at the border. If she is given less ( a date is written on her passport when she arrives), then you just need to extend the visa online before it expires. There is no limit to how many times it can get extended, and some people have been on visitor visa for over 2 years (not that I think your application will take that long, but in case!), so she can wait out the application here. Once the COPR is sent (just make sure you update your address on ecas), then she will need to flagpole, and "land as a PR" (even crossing a land border).

Just make sure that she doesn't say that she is moving to Canada when she arrives - technically, even for 6 months or more, she's only visiting.
Good luck,
Sweden

You actually got a visitor visa approved?

That deserves congratulations in itself!!

No Kidding.... My wife applied before our wedding and was denied. And i thought she had a strong application for it. Just the generic denial. I would save the money and not bother.

@ CanadianJeepGuy better call the SWAC team (Special Weapons And Capslock) and take Tagum-N.B. :P

I'm going to personally mail Tagum a new laptop with the capslock button removed.

Yes, you would have to get a visitor's visa first! There's not a huge chance of that, unless your wife is pretty nicely established in the Philippines. Worst case scenario you're out $75 for the application fee. You will know within a few weeks if it's approved or not.
