I don't know if I agree with your in-process theory Steph. It is possible they wait until all the items are onhand then switch it to in-process. It seems a lot of things often take only a day, so it would look like the in-process came after when it may actually have come first. I still think the jury is out on it. As for the re-med, we were asked for one and are still in Application Received status.

CJG: I checked the Appendix A and it is the country-specific checklist of documents. We weren't asked for one and I know I included it in our app along with the main checklist. Is it possible you only included the main checklist and not this one as well? The tricky part is do they want just the checklist or all the documents that the checklist refers to (which is all the hassle-to-get stuff like NSO Marriage Certificate, AOM, etc). Since they lost parts of your app, who knows? I think you might be right in waiting to see the CGMS notes to see what is missing.

And my wife went to IOM cause I told her there was no appointment needed and it wasn't crowded. So she went and they asked for her appointment. So she went to St. Lukes instead (she is #41 in line and they were at #24 when she told me, mainly because she got their late because of the detour). So if you are planning to go to IOM you DO need an appointment.

You would think I have learned better. I made the mistake of not reading right to the very very VERY end of the email. So I didn't tell my wife to include a copy of the email in the mailing to CEM!  Grrr. Luckily she had a copy on her so she is going to drop it in too.

I gotta remember to read EVERYTHING!

The BC one says this:

http://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing/moving-bc/driving-experience

Basically he can drive right away, but has to get a letter from the Philippine place that issues drivers licences (what's it called? LTO?)

To be eligible for a full-privilege B.C. driver's licence, you must have held a driver's licence (not a learner's) for at least two years.
Accepted documents
We accept any one of the following documents as proof of your driving experience:
driver's licence
international driving permit plus its corresponding driver's licence (We don't accept permits that have expired more than five years.)
your driving record, or
a letter of experience.
How to get your driving record or a letter of experience
To get a copy of your driving record or a letter of your driving experience, contact the driver licensing authority in your area.

This scares me a little bit because he basically bought his licence. And it seems like he can just get one here? Nobody wants their wife telling them how to drive :D He has to learn the rules of the road.. I was really hoping he would have to study and take an exam. I know that sounds a bit mean.. but I didn't want to be the one telling him our traffic signs and laws. Maybe I will send him out on the road with my father to teach him :p :p
Okay, I was reading this wrong. He can drive for up to 90 days on his Philippine license. But he still has to get his learner's and pass a test to get his BC licence. But he will be exempt from the graduated licensing thing that will save 3 years.

Because they really do not want your reply. If they did they would have sent you an active email.

The Appendix A they request now is not the same one with the initial application. I went back and looked at our copies. I went through both checklists plus our own checklist for pics and plane tickets and such.. Steph may be right in that they send it to you to give you one more chance to include family members.

I think Steph may still be correct. My wife's Ecas stated application received until she received her PPR which came about 2 weeks after her remed request. Have you got your PPR yet?

The test is easy. Just make him study the signs.

I think they will ask for you to redo your medical. As Steph has mentioned before due to the high rate of TB in the Philippines no one can leave without being checked out with a chest x-ray at the very least.

Check your email again to make sure they only want your passport.

Now I'm starting rumours ::)

I think PPR is the start of your assessment - then when you pass all your eligibility and the last thing in the way of your visa is your medical, they will ask for re medical.
