Hello Everyone.

Thanks for keeping this thread alive. It looks like I'm in the same position as a lot of you here. My wife's (Japanese) application was submitted on 9/24/12 and I was approved as a sponsor on 11/5/12. Manila received the application on Nov 19. The processing time on this date was 9 months!
Now I see our medicals have expired as well (completed Sept 7, 2012). I have not had any communication from them since May 15 when they requested a certificate from me. My application still says "application received" and I'm really reaching the end of my patience with CIC. Between the PAFSO strike and the total lack of information and accountability from CIC, I am beyond fed up!

I'm not sure if I should write them or wait a little longer. Should I go ahead and get a new medical or hope they will accept the expired one? I am fully prepared to go see my MP (too bad it's not Harper - I live in Calgary). I am also going to be in Manila on business at the end of November. I feel like showing up at the embassy and demanding to speak to a consular officer.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi there! You should email CEM and follow up, i just emailed them last monday and a day after got a replied from them, they said queued for the review and my medical was valid till Jan. 2. Last night i checked my ecas its In process already last Oct. 23,2013..

Hi...and welcome....from what I've read you wont get past security there at the Embassy...and from my only visit to CEM I'd agree...discussing an Immigration issue is not going to get you in....
There's an email address available for case specific issues and if you scan through this thread you will find it...sorry I cant provide it for you..
Maybe some of the "seniors" can help with that email addy..

my husband was saying, "do they want us disqualified because of technicality/failure to submit in that short notice?" just saying. 45days is ample time eh.

Thanks for your thoughts..under normal situation 45 days is loads of time...but in our case I was hoping to do some travel with my wife outside PH in early January...ans giving them her passport totally messes up that idea!

Hi RM15, I got my PPR around end of June. If you haven't done yet, it's best to send them an email about your case. You can reply to the email where they sent the PPR.

Sometimes that happens, just try again a bit later. You mean the re-manil address, right?

I was actually sad because I just checked my ECAS, Application Recieved. Then I think I saw lee's DM about an hour later. I was like, what the heck, I'll just look at my ECAS status and be sad all over again. Suddenly, boom. Surprise! But who knows how long it'll take for my passport and visa to get into my grubby paws, so...

So don't be too sad about it. You'll get your PPR when you least expect it.
