Wonderful, the processing times have been updated on CIC. Manila is now...

12 MONTHS!

This is based on the end of year data. So we went from 11 to 12. What is funny is that Seoul went from 11 to 10. Yup, inefficient Seoul that needs to be closed down to improve processing times. Not about budget cutting at all...

I knew it. When I first applied the wait was 8 months. So we went from 8 to 11 to 12 months.

Huh! And our "all but completed in 2012" application was complete in just under . . . 8 months. Go figure. Lucky us!

Lucky you , Truesmile. So if when I applied, like CJG it was 8 months.. then 9 then 12! How can you say 8 months then move it to 12 months >:( really not fair

The process is junk to be honest... So corrupt and ass backwards its ridiculous. Even more so considering families are involved.

Good thing I'm heading to masbate, Phil. On the 28....need something to help with the waiting, and can't wait any more for what ifs or best case scenarios.

I really think the government Should use some money to implement a probationary visit program to uphold its bogus family reunification policy!

And why do they have to move them all the Manila? Why not Beijing? They seem consistent at 8 months.

Yes, I would say that citizens deserve better service for sure. But citizens are already a captive audience.. better help PR's bring in their families and the Temporary workers become PR's.. that's potential for more tax revenue. Citizens can't walk away. ;D We're stuck with this.

it used to be 6 months now it's 1 year! wow, so much for family reunification..

what do you guys find helpful to make the looong wait less painful?

Again this is something you should complain to your MP about. We all pay the same amount for the same service yet the service is not provided equally.

And remember this come election time...

Can we start a petition? I just can't see my MP running to Ottawa to complain on my behalf.

Letting your MP know that this is unacceptable to you as a voter and that this will be on your mind come election time is enough to get your point across. They certainly won't change anything so the only thing you can do is exercise the power of your vote.

You can certainly start a petition. It would be interesting to see what kind of response it would get.

My MP is a member of the opposition. So I could threaten to take away my vote but it doesn't seem like the best plan. I agree with many things he's taking a stand for, including rights of women and minorities. I don't see where a threat would get me here.. if he was conservative then I could find it in me to threaten.

Besides, an opposition member with a majority government doesn't have much power to change much. Now if your MP is in the ruling party...
