hopefully u will be recieveing ur medicals very soon. i cant answer your question. since it is has an differant issue, V Officer has the final word on this.

I am also from Kerala and have been living in the UK for 7 years. I applied in 2007 and at last got my PR in February this year. My profession is a regulated profession and therefore had to write the licensing exam to complete my professional registration. We visited Canada in July and completed my exam and activated our PR status. I got my results early this year and with God's grace I passed! We are planning to move to Canada in march 2012 ( don't want to go there in the middle of the winter) we are also waiting for our UK passport to arrive. BTW we received our PR card last week. We are planning to settle in Ontario since we have friend in ON, NY, and MI. ( not in Toronto though!)

My noc was 3151 ( Occupational Therapist). It is no more there in the shortage list.

wouid u pls give inputs on cost of living and salary in toronto?
 
Hi Shijolal

One can rent a one bedroom flat for around CAD 1000 in Toronto. A family can survive with around CAD 2500. Both husband and wife may have to work to earn that much if they both are doing survival jobs. However, if one can do their profession, life then become luxurious. A professional may earn about CAD 4000 after all deductions. I heard that car insurance is very expensive in Canada. I met few malayalees who are doing their profession and few others who are still doing survival jobs. If your profession is a regulated profession, I would advise that you take the necessary steps to get your registration completed.
 
Where r the good institutes in and around Kochi to do IELTS general training to score higher points as required higher bands as my job is regulated.

Hi,
That means you are through in medical and now your "Security background checks" starts which may take 2-6 months normally. But in some cases it may take more than one year as it depends upon your background and unfortunately on your nationality too.

But don'y worry and enjoy your present time n wait till your next action/s from CIC.
