Just wondering if most people sent their application via CanadaPost with tracking? Also, did you submit your application in a huge envelope or box? I've never mailed anything this thick before, so not sure what is the best way to go!

I mailed mine via Canada Post, with some kind of tracking/signature-on-receipt option that I forget now. It arrived without a problem.

I originally had it in a big manila envelope that I taped down with clear packing tape for reinforcement, but at the post office, I ended up buying the biggest bubble-padded envelope there and shoved the whole thing into the new envelope because it seemed sturdier.

Don't forget to scan everything right before sending, so that way you don't stay awake all night wondering "did I send XYZ? Did I remember to sign it? Did I mark the right checkbox?" that will inevitably occur once it's mailed. I hadn't scanned the PDF files that were saved on my computer, and I did stay awake a few hours past bedtime wondering such things. :)

Best way to go is definitely a package WITH a tracking number. Either Canada post, UPS, Fedex, DHL or any other shipping companies can do that for you.

My personal opinion is that it's the only way to go. Sending it without tracking number and required signature is just flat out stupid.

x2 on the bubble wrap, water proof envelop and tracking #
For a few extra bucks, it's safer and offers a greater piece of mind.

Even though LVO returned the original documents to me in a regular paper envelope.

I sent mine Fed EX with signature required and tracking.
I had 3 envelopes held in an expanding folder with a string closure around it and then at Fed Ex, put it all in their cardboard box.
If you use a courier, make sure you're using the courier only address to mail it to.
And check for newly updated forms the morning that you mail it, just in case there are any updated.

I mailed mine on a prepaid envelopes of Canada Post
cost me about 15 and had tracking and signature included.

I sent mine Xpress post thru Canada Post. I had tracking and signature as well. I had 3 folders that I put in a box. I just purchased the large size box at Canada Post and they taped it up for me. The box was $5.95.
Be sure and track your package and if it doesn't get there on time you can request a refund from Canada Post if you use Xpress Post with tracking. I did and they sent me a refund check for $18.

I also sent with XpressPost (ask for signature). It arrived not the next day, but the following. because of the delay, got my $18 refunded. I mailed mine inside a white bubble envelope (i think we had about 200 pages) so it wasn't super thick, and didn't need its own box.

I'd recommend taking a picture of the package and save your receipt until it gets acknowledged by CIC (could be 3 weeks or so).

Yes, I took a pic of my box too before I mailed it. I learned about requesting the refund from Kangamoose here on the forum. Mine was like like 3 days late. Keep everything until you get your PR. LOL

I don't think so, I forgot as well and ended up getting a scanned PDF of someone's initials. As long as it has tracking I think you're ok.

And I learned about getting a refund from IrisSphere haha :)

We expressed posted ours, a bubble envelope inside the express post cardboard envelope. Not by choice though, the post office wouldn't send the bubble wrap envelope via express post (it was just a regular Canada Post one) and I had already addressed it so we just shoved it inside the express post one haha

Haha!! That is soo awesome!! I love how we all pay it forward.

I mailed mine through Purolator. I should have gone out and bought something nice to stick it in but I ended up half shoving it into a paper mailer then putting that into a big plastic one. Doesn't look the greatest. They didn't have any good boxes that would fit it though, just square shaped ones. At least I have tracking and signature required so I have that for my piece of mind.
