Mailing address and email

In the CIC form, they have writter, they will send all communication to email address if provided.
Can anybody confirm, if they also send something to mailing address also.
Suppose during the processing, If I will move back to India, Is there any chance, they will send some physical letter to my mailing address without sending any communication to email. Please suggest.

I don't know if they send anything to your physical address when you've provided
them with a valid email address, however CIC asks you to keep them updated with
your current mailing address in case you move or leave the country for a longer period
of time.
