When you receive your MR all the employment (your work, your education etc.) related checks are completed so at this stage (your second line) they are just in process to verify all of this (your documents).

Once you are done with your MR and send in all the updated documents they will start with your security checks (your travels, countries you lived in etc). If they are satisfied with everything you will receive your passport request (PPR). ;D

I read it somewhere here that when you get second line,the background checks are completed but you are saying they start when that line is added,which statement is true?

shall we use the same photos with plain white background(35mm x45mm) we submitted along with the application.

no specific size, ask photographer for passport photos

Well, there are many opinions here on the forum but fact is, no one will ever know for sure (unless you really work for the LVO). I do belive that once you receive your secound line ("We started processing...") your employment checks (education, employment verification etc.) are in process. Whether that means that they started or just finished their checks I do not know but there have been cases (on this forum) where people received their secound line and within a few days they've got a refusal letter on grounds of failing the education/employment checks.

Fact is, once you receive your MR all the education/employment checks are done and passed (without them no MR ).

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Me and Mr E have discussed this in previous posts but you are pretty much spot on. Once the 2nd line is on your ECAS it usually means that you can expect to receive the MR/add docs/rejection pretty soon afterwards.

Unfortunately there are many cases where this is has not happened and the 2nd line hasn't meant anything significant.
