Hi farney bhoy, have you got your 2nd line already? if so when did you get it? and where are you located? Have you got AOE or are you FSW1? if you've got AOE then you may get MR quicker...
Hi my friend

I am FSW 3 and have not received 2nd line. My NOC is 0631. I am Irish but located in London. The wait goes on!

I remember that another applicant, probably Optimist22222,received MR without the addition of the second line.This could be true in your case, as well :) :) I really wish that you get your MR soon :) :)

You are right, my second line appeared after third along with fourth :D. Pretty confusing eh... :)

I mean I received MR two and half months before the appearance of second line. Looks like you will also receive your MR before you see the second line.

Removal of pre 28 feb applicants and now 1 july 2012 is the part of programm to reduce backlog, and my judgment is MI1,MI2 AND MI3 will be in the same boat. Thousands of MI1 applicants have received 6 to 12 months wait letters, 6 to 8 months completed and LVO will deal with MI1,MI2 AND MI3 with the same stick

Hey buddy

I am not sure what you mean. Are you saying we will receive wait letters? The same stick as what? Sorry but i don't understand your comments. Can you clarify. I am still to receive my 2nd line and receiced PER in Oct 2011! The recent news of a pause in new MI is a good thing or bad thing for those of us who applied after July 2011?

Frany bhoy looking at your time line I feel a little better lol no sorry man just a matter of time soon we all will get good news and go through MR and all that in no time will be chillin out in Toronto sipin on Starbucks coffee .

Hi,
Personally I dont care or mind about this pause.All I want is to get my MR..................Hahahahaaaaaa.
Obviously I feel sorry for those who prepared to apply in July 2012 but I want to take this new rule positively if it helps to reduce backlog. It is definitely good news for all of us because it will reduce time line of processing in the future. Even if those who wanted to apply in July, they will get the decision in the same time frame if they will apply in Jan2013.

Best wishes

Changes to federal skilled worker programs as of July 1, 2012

Based on the FSWP program evaluation and stakeholder and online consultations in spring 2011, the FSW selection criteria will be modernized, with an updated distribution of points on the grid. The proposed changes are intended to better select skilled immigrants who will be able to contribute to the Canadian economy.
Proposed changes include:
• introducing minimum official language thresholds and increasing points for language;
• making changes to the assessment of education points to reflect a foreign educational credential’s value in Canada;
• redistributing points for age to benefit younger immigrants who will be active members of the workforce for a longer timeframe;
• reducing points for foreign work experience and increasing points for Canadian work experience;
• increasing the integrity of and simplifying the process for the Arranged Employment factor; and
• facilitating the immigration of skilled tradespersons by establishing a separate Federal Skilled Trades program using selection criteria that are more specific to those in the skilled trades

It seems like it is gonna be more difficult to apply for FSW under the MI5 as the selection criteria will be more specific.

I totally agree. I've got mine in the fridge waiting since oooofffff...can't remember now. Hope it'll still be good when I get maple leaf... (if I get... :-X)

Anyways, what is FSW3? It's the 1st time I've heard of it, sorry. Is it to do with the Provincial Nominee Program?

FSW3 = For students or workers who are legally residing in Canada, and have done so for at least 12 months immediately before submitting their application. [international student enrolled in a PhD program in Canada (or graduated from a Canadian PhD program within the past 12 months)]

I hope this clarifies it! ;)
