You need to go where you can get a job. If you can get a job, the cost of living is reflected in the salary. Alberta and BC are both fairly good to get jobs. I would say it's cheaper to live in AB, most places anyway. Alberta is oil rich and is doing away with their health care premiums as of January 1st and they do not have the additional provincial sales tax that the other provinces have.
