Hi, So around the end of June I lost or someone stole my wallet. My PR card was inside my wallet (which is not so smart), after few days I call cic and they told me that I can file solemn declaration for lost pr card. Are they gonna give me a new PR card? And BTW it's I just remember it's gonna expire late this yr. Am I gonna receive a new one with another 5yrs. In it? It's almost 3mos. But I still haven't receive the card yet. Thanks for the answers.

Did you file the application for replacement pr card with all the details about your past 5 years history?
If yes, when the card is re-issued it's usually valid for next 5 years from the date of issue.

Nope, I did not mention about the expiration date, I thought they already have records for that? And how long usually I need to wait for my new card?

I suppose you have filled the following form under this link including photographs etc:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prcard.asp

You should have completed the whole form including the past 5 years of history and solemn declaration concerning the lost, stolen card etc etc. Did you do that?

If yes, sometimes processing times may vary and contact cic call centre at 1-888-242-2100 to check the status. On the website it says 70 days. If it has exceed that time, call centre might be able to help you.

As per CIC's website they are working on applications received on July 7, 2016.

I only fill this one up and send via fax. It's the IMM5451. I didn't send any photo etc. Should I call cic to confirm about my status? I'm kinda worried. I'm about to go back to my country for vacation this Janunary.

Read the information on this link carefully:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prcard-lost.asp

Possessed a Permanent Resident Card that was lost, stolen or destroyed but you do not wish to reapply for a new card immediately. You can obtain a PR Card application kit from this site.

I think you still need to fill in the complete application to apply for PR card:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/prcard.asp

You can call the contact centre at 1-888-242-2100 to confirm the details.

Yes, you can work in Canada as long as you have maintained your PR status.
You can't just expect PR card to be mailed to you unless you fill in the complete application.
So, when are you planning to submit your PR card application? Once you submit the application then you should expect the PR card in 70 days approximately.

And what do you mean I maintained my PR Status?
I'm filling up the forms right now and hopefully can finish all of it today or tomorrow. So it could be less or more than 70 days right?

I meant to say that maintaining PR status means that you have spent 2 out of 5 years in Canada.

Please read the following link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp

70 days is approximate. It's up to CIC how much time they will take.

I think you have enough time now to apply and hopefully you get it before your vacation.
