Hi there,

I don't have all my plane tickets of when I went to visit my wife, but i have the stamps in my passport (enter and exit)...is it enough ???

thanks

Yes, they should be enough. Simply include the ones you do have, and explain that the others were lost.

yeah, perfect. I will do this :)

I have another question. How to print your chat logs....How do you print them, I mean how do you organize them. For the month of July 2009, I have about 300 pages....do you just print the start of each conversation you had in the month???

thanks

Well, in our case, my PC crashed and we lost all our chat logs from last year. So I am printing the few emails we exchanged, the few chat logs I found I am printing all of them.

In your case, I would print say, one conversation per week, showing the continuity of your communication, since you have so much of it. Just my opinion, you may want to print more.

Hi medellinguy!

What I did was print one conversation per month since 2007. I printed the beginning of the conversation, and edited the file to show only important parts of our cnversation. Each chat log ended up being about 3 pages, we were talking for hours!
So all I did was picking up a random day, or a special day such as his birthday, Valentine's day..

What if you talk in a sexual manner to your partner in your chat logs should you still include them? I'm not including any chat logs for this reason because one of us always says something dirty! LOL

Organize them month by month starting with the most recent. Do this for everything you will be using as evidence.

Be wise about what you print from your chat logs. If you have 300 pages and there is about 30 logs per month, chose a few that you want the IO to go through. You don't need to include everyday or every month. As long you can show some form of consistency. I'd go for about 8 logs per month ... 2 for each week. In terms of choosing these conversations, just don't make it seem as if your rship is like walking on water where everything is indeed picture perfect or include anything too explicit. Treat it as if you are telling your close friend about your rship in a detailed manner but not so detailed that you must share your bedroom secrets. Yea, if you include a conversation stating how much you miss having sex with your partner, that's fine. The bottom line here is to be consistent and think about how you can defend every piece of evidence you are sending to the VO.

Good luck!

my wife and I had a tough period for about a month when we were together, do I have to include chat logs from there or it's better to show the relationship as not having any problems?

Plus, I would like to know if it's possible to print chat logs on both side of a paper sheet to save paper???

shandymoo...I chose to include mine anyway, as it is proof that we were talking regularly and truly missed each other. I just but a black line through anything x-rated and included a letter that explained why I had done that. There were alot of black lines ;)

You have to include whatever you feel comfortable having the IO read , as someone said earlier I did not send any chat logs for 2 reasons they would have dirty content, and to be honest I never even knew I could have printed them.
completly clueless to that. lol

I did However send some of the emails of when we argued, I figured an Immigration Officer would know that any Relationship will have its off days.

So you definately dont want to come accross as being too Picture Perfect. definately you will be selective about what you share with them.
but try and keep it as real as possible.
Just think if you were the IO what would you be thinking.

Hope this helps.

Godbless

I printed 3 sample chats one from early, one middle and one from recent.. We did print all copies of phone logs, apparently these are harder to fake and carry more weight (and can be verified easily)

I printed off a sample chat too. I had 500 pages of chating for just one month. I was not about to do 6 years worth. I also had a computer crash so I basically only had a few months of chats left to be viewed. I just sent in one month and I told them this is an example of what we talk on a daily basis and I explained that I couldnt possibly send in from when ou relationship began and that I had a computer crash and lost most of our logs. I sent in all our love letters and our emails and I had saved copies of ecards to my yahoo, so I didnt lose those things. To be honest if you talk alot there is no way you can send in all the amount you talk. I think that they just kind of thumb through it and if something sticks out in the chats they read it. I dont think they read the entire thing. I didnt black out anything we said to each other although the more "affection" portions I used the **** sign. I didnt like to have them read our intimate details or our recount of the last time we were together, but at the same time I wanted them to see that there is a passsion for each other. we were not potty mouths or anything so I was not worried. But when I got the notes that the visa officer wrote about our case. She wrote that the information was very deep and passionate. The witch refused us, but none the less, she noticed that our relationship has passion. THere were arguements also and the make up emails. I think they need to see all sides of your relationship. just my opinion

I would do the printing on single sheets to make it easier for the IO or staff to go through the documents. Mind you, I am an Env. Scientist by education and it was mind breaking to know how many trees I might have killed during this whole process of immigration :( But you just gotta do what needs to be done ;)

Was also thinking that we live in the world of electronic everything... With etickets and mobile boarding passes, completely paperless travel is a reality, so the stamps in your passport should more than suffice... For some it might be the only proof they have...
