Usually the date of your Common Law status is one day after the 12 months of living together.

Example- living together from April 27, 2015 - April 27, 2016
Common Law date would be April 28, 2016.

Can you sign into the CRA and check what date you put?

CRA is not allowed to share your information with CIC anyways, so there is no issue.
