Has anyone ever gone through an experience where the medical was not matched up to your file and/or your VO couldn't locate it? If so, how long did it take to match them up? I have heard some people have contacted ottawa asking them to forward their medical to their visa office, does this actually work?

One more question, if your medical has been lost before the expiry is up, would the applicant have to redo the medical or could the results be sent again from the doctors office?

Thanks.

Yep! Happened to us! We emailed the VO, they said they couldn't track it down even though DHL confirmed someone signed for it.....we emailed VO repeatedly but got no response. It was maybe 3 months since we mailed it that the VO emailed my husband asking him to redo his medical and emailed him instructions and a new form. His medical would have expired by the time he got his visa anyway, so he would have had to redo it.
Honestly, if they can't find it, they won't go out of their way to track it down, they wil prob wait for the year to elapse or close to the year, then ask for u to do another one. They really don't gain anything from your medical being lost and don't gain anything working extra hard to find it. And they really don't care of u have to do another one cause it doesn't cost them anything. That is my opinion having gone thru it! If you go back to the same doctor, beware, some of them refuse to do another medical for you unless they/you have been given instructions from the VO to do so. Good luck! Hang in there, it is so hard, but the wait is worth it!

Yep! I had an email only yesterday saying the reason everything has been held up is because they haven't recieved the medical for my husbands daughter! We were advised to call the doctors surgery today get the original and forward it to Our VO which is London! Nightmare!! It's taken 7 months for them to tell us this!

My brazilian wife received a call yesterday from the Sao Paulo Canadian Embassy saying they had the medical exam of her son but nothing about her medical exam. We called the DMP that did both of their medical exam (one after the other) and they said they sent both files at the same times. I am 100% sure I included both files for both of them in my application (Appendix C + IMM 1017 Medical Report – Section A).

We wrote to the visa office to know what is the problem and how we can solve it, because it was bit unclear what they wanted from us when they called her. I hope we don't have to pay another 300$ for this exam, since we are early in the immigration process so we might have to do another one near the end of the process.

Wow, this seems to be a lot more of a common problem then what I thought. In our case, my husbands medical was done in Canada. I have spoken with the medical office and I am confident that they have sent it to the ottawa DMP for processing.

I know not knowing where the medical is can cause huge delays even though its not nescesarily our fault :( It has already delayed us about a month .. lets hope this problem can be resolved soon.

Other than contacting our medical offices, does anyone know of anything we can do to help these medicals be found?

Thanks and best of luck to everyone.

Also, at what stage were you notified that the embassies could not find your spouses/dependents medicals?

In our case, we have been in process for almost 6 months, and our package has been with our VO for 3 months.

Wow. That really sucks.

My case is somewhat similar, but not as bad. The doctor forgot to do the x-rays, so we were finally informed of his error this week (1 yr later!). They instructed my husband to go back to the doctor and get the x-rays done. I'm concerned that they'll put our file at the bottom of the pack again though!

This happened to us, too. The Canadian Embassy in Manila notified us in December that they were unable to locate my spouse's medical exam results and asked if he had gone in for his medical exam yet. We replied that it had been completed in February 2012 (application submitted March 2012) and told them which DMP office he had used. We followed up with the DMP and they submitted his medical file to the medical assessment office at the embassy in Manila in late March 2012.
Up to now, there has been no reply from the embassy as to whether they have located the medical examination results or if he should have them redone. They expired two months ago. :(

My daughters Medical is also in the 'unable to locate' category. I have emailed london twice with the information of where and when her medical was done. They didn't bother to notify me, I emailed them to ask if everything was ok and there response was ' could you provide information of where and when your daughters medical was take' then 4 weeks later after following up I got the same response.

My VO is also London

I don't think there's anything that can be done as you can't call the regional medical offices yourself - guess you can only check with the dr you saw to ensure it got sent off, which i'm sure it did. We had to redo our medicals as the year had passed and then I contacted my MP who contacted our VO to see if the medicals had been received, and they had been, the 2nd time around.

Bottom line, it doesn't matter if you lost the medicals, they lost the medicals, or what the reason is, if they don't have them, or can't find them, they will NOT go out of their way to hunt them down. Sadly, you are just a case file number and they have so many to go through, the onus is really on the applicant to get the necessary documents. Like I said, we had to redo ours, (it cost $700) and it probably set back our time at least 6 months. PLUS, they take their sweet time telling you they can't locate your medicals, which adds even more months to your wait time.

If they requested you to do it, then do it ASAP ! They sent us a new form to take to the dr when we had to redo ours. We tried to redo it ourselves, but the dr said he needed a form from them saying it needed to be redone so you need to take the form they emailed to you to your dr and get it done!
