Lost job on closed work permit, but it is valid till end of 2028. Current Crs at 508, eligible for EI! Any suggestions related to applying LMIA jobs or any other opportunities available to work till I get BOWP approval. Is it worth to stay in Canada in the mean time? Cause I’m thinking of heading backhome and get some genuine experience rather than wasting my time sitting idle which will ultimately affects my employment gap. Thanks in advance.

You cannot work and current score not high enough so you leave Canada and get work experience. What is your NOC and how long did you work in Canada.

Are you sure you qualify for EI? You are unable to look for work and start work immediately which is typically a requirement.

Here is the rules from EI in regards to EI benefits

https://www.canada.ca/en/employment...eports/digest/chapter-10/proof.html#a10_2_4_3

10.2.4.3 Restricted to one employer

A person whose work permit includes a restriction that only allows them to work for a specific employer, is not normally considered to be available to accept work, and may be disentitled from collecting benefits. However, the simple fact that the work permit restricts the worker to one employer is not the only factor to be considered when determining the claimant’s availability.

It is important to fact find and take all factors into consideration before determining that a foreign worker is unavailable because their work permit restricts their employment to one employer. Before making a determination, it is necessary to obtain a declaration from the claimant regarding their availability. In addition, the claimant must agree that once they receive an offer of employment from a new employer, they will contact IRCC and apply to have the restriction on their work permit removed (CUB 63940).

Yes! even I was surprised to see approval in my MSCA portal. But, they took the whole 28 day period to finalize the decision.

Even after getting the approval, I feel like not to stay in Canada due to the fear of employment gap! which matters the most for my career. Am I missing any information to stay here and get work on LMIA. Please share your views on what/how to do everything. Thanks a ton.

Thanks for the support. Appreciate it.
I have a doubt regarding the EE revamp issue please. If IRCC is cutting down education points, that will affect each and everyone in CEC or whatever the stream right? Ultimately, the scores will be down!
