Lost and expiring study Permit

My study permit is about to expiring this month, and when I was about to extend it I found out I lost it.
could anyone please help me and give me some advice?
I am in a middle of semester.
school seems wants me to solve it by myself.

Hi, when you apply for extension of your study permit online, you don't need to upload a copy of your study permit. So as long as you know your client ID number (8 digits) and the expiry date of your study permit (probably same date your visa expires), you can apply for extension. CIC has your information in the system, so you don't need to worry about your lost study permit. Just apply for extension before it expires or you will lose your status.

If you don't have a copy, your school must have a photocopy of your study permit on your file (they usually photocopy passports and study permits during registration process), so just ask them kindly to make a copy for you, this way you will know your client ID number and expiry date of your study permit.
