Hi,

I am looking for some advice, I have my Permanent Residency Application lodged in Berlin and am currently in Canada on a work permit in BC, but I am very unhappy in this job -when the dream turns into a nightmare!!! On the positive side I have found a new employer in Alberta who wants me to start work a.s.a.p. The problem is the job market is changing and HR Canada is saying that it may not be possible for the new employer to obtain an LMO due to the possible availability of Canadian workers (yet to be establised, they have advertised for over a month). Is there anything I can do help the new company and HR Canada???? Also would it be worth applying for a working holiday visa instead, that way I would have the freedom to work anywhere? And can I do this from within Canada??? Plus if I leave my current employer can I wait in Canada whilst the new LMO / Work permit is being processed ???? One more question, does anyone think it would be worth withdrawing my residency application and re-submitting it under the new faster processing times??

As you can see I'm very confused and would appreciate any advice or help.

1. Nope it is between the company and HRSDC .
2. It depends on your nationality and age for the eligibility for a working holiday visa. See the FW 1
Manual http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/fw/fw01e.pdf
3. If you quit, you can remain until the work permit expires, but you can't start work for a new employer without a new LMO.
4. You choice if you wish to withdraw.

Thanks PMM - Very helpful, I just have one more question, we have decided to opt for the Working Holiday Visa as a back up, As I am Dutch I can apply through the Embassy in Berlin, the problem is my partner is British, so am I right in thinking she has to go through the Canadian High Commission in London??? We have checked out the website and it seems the only option is to go through BUNAC, do you know if we can apply directly or is BUNAC part of the Canadian Embassy??

Really appreciate you help again.

She has to apply through Bunac, the CHC off loaded the program to them, they are a private company.
