Hi i am considering relocating myself my partner and my son to canada from ireland its been a lifelong dream of mine. and im trying to find out the basic expenses of living, the type of jobs on offer and the minimum wage and what requirements will i need to obtain a visa. My prefered location would be calgary but open to other towns within commuting distance. I appreciate any kind of feed back on how to go about any of this. Thanks.

Average wage in Calgary is $25/hour (that might sound good, but in reality, won't get you far). Minimum wage is $10.11. Rent seems to have taken a huge jump in the past six months. It's practically impossible to find even a basement suite under $1000/month for two bedrooms. There are a lot of jobs, if you have the right skills.
