Do you have any idea what area you want to live in? And also what your budget may be?
There is a lot of inexpensive housing along the eastern part of the Green Line between Beaudry and Pie-IX.
There is also the western part of the Orange Line between Vendome and Snowdon, which also have inexpensive housing.
There are really a lot of options. Knowing your budget really helps to narrow it down.

Any idea how are the rents around Beaubien/Jean-Talon metro stations? I'd like to rent a closed 1 bedroom in La petite-patrie, but I'm often told that prices in craigslist and kijiji.ca are higher than usual. My budget would be between 600 - 800, preferably $700.
