Longest wait for VISA 40+ days Crossed

I hav been waiting for my Visa and its a longest wait i can say
submitted on 25th june and still its under Processing

I guess m gona make RECORD now

I applied on May 6,2010. I am above all of you ...and now after researching I know why. CHC does a background check against all of us before issuing a visa and in that check they check your frequent travel to countries, your name and other info. take a look at this

Although this is for other type of visa, I think it applies for study permit as well, as they check every applicant if they are a threat to canada. And according to this one annoying factor is your name* (yes your name), so if you've got a weird name which they don't like your file will most probably be checked for background and thus this delay..at least I think this is why.

now m getting d reason why my VISA is getting such loads of time

in the Month of june i had been to Singapore / Malaysia tour ... i guess this is d problem as my passport is stamped by their visa ... and thy might be cross checking all those stuff

My friend what you have mentioned above does not apply to a study permit (or any temporary resident visas). Moreover,Background check involves approx. 5-6 months so when do you think you should have applied ? A year in advance....????. ;D

Dont know if name has any effect on getting d visa ;D

But the ultimate point is that at d end of d day .. i dont hav a vISA even tough applied under SPP on 25th june

so lets pray we all get d visa ASAP.....

Without doing background check I doubt they will be able to achieve this and in order to background check they have to have some criteria. It sounds weird but yes they do scan people through their name and frequent travel.

the persons who got visa in just 2-3 days, how can u check their background in just 2 days
and wht is the procedure of checking the backgrounds?

I think they will screen the applicants first based on name, frequent travels or anything slightly unusual that they suspect. And they will only do background check for those applicants. Else how will you explain months of review on a single application that doesn't have any complication.

why u keep asking all this,,,,,,,none of your business and such kind of information is secret in the eyes of immigrations and security........

let me know to give you some general information that at immigration counters at airports there are inventories when you travel they keep your record there are several ways to trace you not only name, passport no but also other things like your finger print and all this is for immigration updates also. So dont go much deep in these procedures because they know better how to monitor all this
