Long wait for PR card

so m hoping mine will come next week. Landed October 16tg, Address change October 17th

Does it matter where you are. I am in BC

Hi everyone,

I am just wondering if you need to wait for your PR card in order to work. For some reason I thought you received the card upon landing in Canada. My husband got his PPR and is waiting for his visa to hopefully come by March. Does that mean he would have to wait a few months before starting work?

Once you have social insurance number, you can find job. Just inconvenience as no photo ID could be issued until you got PR card. Also, difficult to travel overseas as starting in mid-March for all visa exempted countries need to apply eTA. However, PR cannot apply eTA. It's a deadlock for PR before getting PR card formally.

You can get it immediately at the airport when landing, or if landing thru ground, go to service canada to apply and csn generate you the number immediately
