Long wait between FD and P1

A month ago, the Final Decision row on my GCkey had an update:

February 23, 2026 Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

I could see my CoPR document number on the tracker on the next day (Feb 24); however, I am still waiting for P1 as of now.

Yesterday I called IRCC, the agent told me that my FD is still in progress, and the CoPR document number just means that my application is in its final stage, but she reiterated that I still have not received my FD and my file is not sent to a portal landing office.

I am feeling confused and a bit anxious. I wonder how does one know their FD date? Would the text change to “approved” and the date be updated when a final decision has been made, or would we just receive P1 and this information would remain the same?

I am now not very sure if my delay in P1 is due to bureaucratic issues or if there is something on my file that is preventing a final decision?

Thank you, any suggestions for what to do in my situation would be greatly appreciated! I plan to attend graduate school in September and I received an offer that is dependent on my PR status, hence I am pretty anxious to receive any news.

Update: Just called them again, apparently my PVO is Montreal and SVO is Ottawa.

That is so frustrating, I really hope you’ll receive an update soon! What does the IRCC agent tell you when you call them? Have you tried the KAI method yet or contacting MP?

I applied through CEC General, my initial progress was pretty fast, AOR Nov 29, BIL Jan 27, then FD in progress Feb 23.

Yeah its frustrating and i have contacted MP no use and IRCC agent told the samething it is in progress

Hello - I have applied under CEC - OUTLAND now so expecting PPR - My FD is May 1st 2026. all steps in Tracker completed now. still waiting for PPR usually it comes within 24-72 hours but for me its complete Silence.

No update unfortunately. I received my GCMS notes on June 1, FD is recorded as "Approved" but status showed as "Not Started" under Finalization/Document Issurance. SVO shows as Etobicoke on the notes, so it likely moved there from my original SVO Ottawa.

MP sent out messages on my behalf twice, I tried KAI twice, no use. I have a grad school offer contigent on my PR status, and now I feel like it'll probably not be processed in time for me to go to school this September

MPs can't speed up your application. KAI is a very very poor correlation that many assumed as a source of truth. It will take the time it takes unfortunatey.

I am waiting since 1st October 2025 and my medical expired and copr validity expired and its been 10 months now and so many webform raised and MP intervened but no use at all and still waiting and have a faith InshaAllah it will come for sure so be relaxed and enjoy your present
