Looking at the average timelines of members in various discussions the and the recently announced pause in accepting further applications by CIC, wont' you think it is better to be optimistic and hope that our applications will now be promised relatively quickly?

off course!!!

That is the reason of the temporary pause , mainly to clear off the backlog applications. However , in my personal opinion I dont think they will be able to completely clear off the backlog but will definitely bring positive changes to many of old applicants .

Fingers Crossed!!!!

Cheers!!

Yes lovie, the backlog is massive to be cleared in just 6 months. You'd have noticed in timelines of some of the active members that average time between medicals being received at LVO and PPR is around 6 - 8 weeks. So, mid to end of July for us is probably realistic!

I'm not very clear on the PPR process and the difference b/w PPR1 and PPR2. If PPR comes in 2 steps then we'll have to add in another 4 - 6 weeks before getting the visa!

I believe you're also a Dubai based applicant?

Yes MIK77,

I am based in Dubai as well.

As far as I know there are some countries where you can't directly send your passports like pakistan , so for them london visa office has PPR in two stages, first PPR wherein they ask for photos and passport copies and then second PPR .

I don't think its applicable here in Dubai as I have asked a few people here and they directly got passport requests.

And going by the timelines I have seen for a few people I feel they would send passport requests within 4-8 weeks , even though they write in their instructions to wait 3-4 months , but their is a possibility of passport being sent earlier .
;D

Very good recommendation Lovie.

We got our's done there as well. Definitely good... They send your reports by the 3rd day to London VO and send you the airway bill number via text message to track its delivery.

Definitely recommended.
