Dear All,

I am an Egyptian Citizen working & living in the U.A.E as a Petroleum Engineer. I applied to immigrate to Canada back in December 2014 as a Federal Skilled Worker ( Submitted to the LONDON VISA OFFICE)

In February 2015: I got a response that the my application was received.

On 30 March 2016 : CIC requested the following :

a) Military Certificate with my status ( I'm exempted ) .

b) Police certificate (since the certificate I submitted back in 2014 was expired).

I submitted the required papers on 20th of April 2016 and I got a response by the 22nd of April 2016 with the following message , and I quote :

"
Dear Mahmoud,

Thank you for your email.

We acknowledge receipt of the documents attached in your email below. Please note that your application has been updated accordingly.

The file is currently undergoing background checks. Please be advised that there are various checks that a file may need to undergo during the application process. We will contact you if/when further information is required.

We appreciate your patience during this process.

Yours sincerely,

EXP

Immigration and Medical Services Division "

And I am waiting since that date..........

My question is : Is there any rule of thumb or a "Maximum" time that one receives a reply regarding his background checks status? I have tried to check online but the status has not changed yet.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you All !
:D :D

we have the same program assistant, on my last CSE i got the same feedback from him. unfortunately, no one knows exactly the "maximum" time of BG, as each application is unique so it varies. let's hope and pray it will be finalized soon :)

The same reply three weeks ago that "An officer is reviewing your application and we will contact you only if we require further information.
We appreciate your patience and keeping correspondence to minimum." Three weeks ago without any name of DRD mentioned underneath. Instead email came from Client Service Unit.

Hello guys,
I am a FSW, 12 December 2014 applicant.
Received PER on 3 March 2015
Did medical, sent updated schedule A and paid RFPR on 10 January 2016
Medical line was updated on 16 January 2016.
Visa office, London VO

Since then, nothing happened!!!!

Is this normal? I am afraid medical will expire before I receive PPR. Has anyone had similar situation?

Note: I checked application processing time on CIC website, and it says 18 months from receipt of a complete application by the visa office. If I get PPR within 18 months as mentioned on CIC website, I should receive PPR by end of Spetember and will definately have no time to prepare myself for landing before medical expiry.

Any advice??

Better to order notes to know the status of your file

Don't worry bro. We are together.

But for being on safe side order GCMS notes to know in depth information about your case.

And join us on our Whats App group:- 00971569022833

I would advise you mail them and let them know that you have less time to prepare if given the visa and you would prefer to plan ahead. I did my medical in December last year and I got the COPR this month. Keep the faith. All the best.

Well, Shahr Yaar,
Good morning.
Our timeline is very similar!!!

But what do you think could be the reason for this delay? Some people say the delay is due to the overload created by the unexpected refuges issue, while some others say that CIC now undertakes a super detailed security check to ensure that all immigrants are good people.

I think this is unusual, because in previous times, PPRs used to arrive 2 to 3 months from medical.

Have you done something about this issue? I feel if I raise a CSE, it will be just a waste of time as I will get the standard response:

"Your application is under review, etc. etc. etc."

Do you expect our medicals to expire before we receive PPR?

I am also waiting for ppr :(

Aace,
Our timeline is almost identical!!!

Do you think we will get something before expiry of our medical?

Have you tried to do anything, like sending an email or CSE to LVO? Have you ordered GCMS notes?

I am seriously thinking of ordering my first GCMS notes, but not sure if I shall do it now, or be patient a little bit.

What's your opinion?
