Background check can include any or all of the following checks and here the word check means "Verification of the fact, that what is mentioned in document truly exist or existed in past". Keeping this definition of of background check in mind, they will do background check for whatever they will feel necessary:-
1)- Verification that the person you mention as spouse of common law partner really is married to you. So, they will verify the marriage certificate from the issuing authority. For it they might have some sub-contractors for verification who will go to this place and show them copy of your marriage certificate and will ask that whether it is genuine.
2)- Degrees and Certificates verification by physically going to institutes or Universities and showing them copies of your certificates and degrees (because WES/CES/ICAS, did not do physical verification by going to your University or by contacting your University, they simply saw that envelope has come in sealed form from the University and considered it enough).
3)- Verification of the Birth Certificate, and Identity Documents, Identity Cards, Passport etc. Even photographs, they might verify by going to the Photographer shop. That is why they ask the address of Photographer shop and contact numbers.
4)-Experience Certificate / Reference Letter Verification by going to your past or existing companies and asking them that whether you were employed there and you did the jobs and responsibilities that you have mentioned.

Anyhow these all depend upon the officer who is reviewing your file and which checks from above he considers necessary. He will choose a list of Checks and give to CSIS or any other verification agency they are using. If the list of Checks is long, it might take years, not months. If list is short it might get finished up in weeks even not months. So, it all depends that how much your documents look genuine. Accordingly the officer will be satisfied and will choose only few simple checks from the list of Checks for "Background Check" Process.

I have requested GCMS notes, the good part is that it's mentioned that both eligibility and criminality have been passed.
Yet, seems my application stuck with security screening, the last note in the file dated 1st of Aug was very strange, it's talking about " receiving a request under "access to information Act " and " call out is being send to mission London ". Also there was a request from Tier 3 pending citizenship and immigration Canada to send some documents.

Anyone practice this before ?

My PER is 6th March, SLU 24th of April.

Hello Guys,

Is there any one who cleared interview and gave 2 Police Clearance Certificates (one from USA or UK). I provided 2 PCC. One from pak and second from UK. I cleared interview 2 weeks ago. My VO told me that now i have to wait for security clearance from Uk before I get MR. I just wanna know how long it takes to get MR after clearing interview keeping in mind the Pcc from UK as well.

Further, my dependent is living abroad so, how to send their passport to Islamabad?
