I do not think SS was triggered. A few verifications took sometime to be completed. For instance my financial statements took almost 8 weeks to be confirmed by the deplorable institution. I think the medical is to give enough room for issuance of visa, was told to re do same on the 10th month mark after doing the first medicals.
Were these verification done during background checks or before you passed the eligibility? Did they verify your financial statements with your bank or some other institutions?

My GCMS details are similar to yours and my VO is DRD, whom I received two email correspondence from him/ her that my BGC is in progress. I always assumed that Im not under SS as I never saw any indication in the 3 GCMS notes that I recieved. However, 3 weeks ago I ordered CSIS notes and found out after two weeks that my file is under going SS at CSIS. Best option to confirm your S status is by ordering CSIS / CBSA
Please how do you order CSIS/CBSA quote

Your file is not opened yet and it can take 8 months from AOR to PPR if your file is in London Visa Office. In addition, London Visa Office is facing even more backlogs and the average time may rise from 8 months to 10 months for applicants. Will try to get % of processed applications by month soon.
Thank @BillHyatt, good to see you back. Can you please explain how it has gotten worse? I thought they stopped sending files to LVO from March / April onward. Why is the problem growing and not getting better? I myself am stuck in LVO 7 months post-AOR with not even the faintest sign of progress or even an opened file.
