Hi

I was wondering if there are more people waiting for a PPR (hopefully) from the CHC London. Could we sort of unite ( :)) here and help each other keep the spirit up.

As you will see from my timeline, we did our medicals in August 2010. In response to my query in early March, the CHC informed us that the background checks were over already. We were asked to provide updated Schedule 1 Forms and updated Police Clearances within 45 days. We sent these to them on 11 March (they received on 14th, hopefully). Now its only checking e-mails and waiting for the postman to bring a brown envelope from London :(

Anyone in our shoes? Anyone who have been through this and actually got the PPR or the Visas? Please feel free to comment, advise or otherwise contribute.

hi i'm also on the same boat, yesterday got request from chc london to submit new form 1 and updated pc at the moment trying to sort my pc and also don't know wether my bgc is over or not...........................? what do u think?

Hi cybervjs

Reassuring that we are not the only ones :) I'd say that Background checks are now complete and the file is (or will be when the requested forms are placed on file) queued to be finally reviewed. Goodluck with the police clearances, hope you get them soon.

Iam sept 2007 applicant with medicals sent sept 2010
On monday i got a reply to my enquiry that my file is waiting to be reviewed by VO.

Did they ask for an updated pcc lately? Do u think they will be asking me toprovide one?

i don't think so they'll need it anymore b'coz if they need it then they would probably ask before final review stage.

Hi

So, London replied to an e-mail I sent earlier last week. They mention that my application has reached the final stage of processing and a final review has to take place before Passports can be requested. They also mention that they anticipate issuing visas (if the review ends with a positive decision) before June ;D

Things look so near and yet so far away!

Wish you the best // O

Is Background check independent from Final Review. My case is under Background check for almost 4 months now. Now once the background check is completed, the Officer's Final Review would take another 4 to 5 months or what.?

Hi abusaf

Ha ha ... nice question :) The background checks on our file took over 6 months :( I imagine how frustrating it can be.

I hope that this final review won't take too long. Since they have mentioned that they anticipate requesting passports and issuing visas before end of June and it is almost end of March, the final review should possibly not take over a month or two !?!

I guess we all have to hold on .... until we eventually land in Canada, get the Confirmation of Permanent Residence countersigned by an immigration officer at a Canadian Airport (or at another landing point), walk out of that landing area, get a cab or whatever to wherever you will choose to go and then begin the next episode of our lives (hopefully to a worthy end).

Goodluck //

Thank you for the quick response. You mentioned that CHC London will be issuing Visas before the end of June for you. I hope that they will bundle quite a few of us together and we get our much awaited PPR. You were right about the painful part. They received my Medical along with Sch 1 and PCC on November 17th and still doing Background check.

Hi ABUSAF

"You mentioned that CHC London will be issuing Visas before the end of June for you." - well, I am not so sure if they actually will. They just wrote that they hope that they will (subject to a successful final review :-X).

Nonetheless, I hope that background checks on your files are over by now and that you will receive your visas pretty much the same time as we do.

They asked me to submit pcc last week and gave me 90 days
I think the trend now is to request an updated pcc before ppr

My medicals were done in Nov 2010 and since then I have heard nothing from CIC. Waiting to hear some gud news (PPR Request) This waiting is killing me......... :-\

hi obho0001,

I hope that the B/g checks are done by now. The last email that I received from them almost a month back was saying the below:

"Thank you for your email.

Background checks are still in process for your application and we are unable to advise when we will be able to request your passports."

Yours sincerely,
