I received a reply to my case specific inquiry today (which I sent 3 days ago)stating:

Dear Sir/ Madam,

We are currently in the process of conducting background/ security checks for this application. This is a lengthy process that can take several months. We will be in contact when there have been further developments with the processing of the file.

It can be lengthy as people who did there medicals in July/August are still waiting for PPR.

we all almost received the same replay
so ,, " ensha allah " we will receive PPR on Jan. 2011
may be there is some different between applicant before 28 Feb. 2008 and after
but i believe it will be not significant

As per my understanding security clearance depends on the responces from government agencies of home country and visited country. Clearance takes more time if These agencies take longer time to respond . I pray that your country do not take long time for my clearance as i have spent 4 years in your country. ;-)
I asume my clearnce will be much longer as i have visited more than 8 countries due to my job. But as you may learn from this forum there is no standard timeline, PR request may come any time. So we should keep our hopes high and inshallah all of us will get our destination soon.

and god help you , 8 countries is too much , but as you say , there is no standard time line

My name is Farhan i m pakistani citizen residing in UAE NOC 0112 i submitted Simplified Application in CHC london on September 2007 Received file number on 6th November 2007 after that nothing happens till date

I think you should send case specific enquiry to CHC London as majority of 2007 applicants have received either document update request or medicals by now.
